The
meaning of some literary works is often enhanced by sustained allusion to
myths, the Bible, or other works of literature.
Select a literary work that makes use of such a sustained
reference. Then write a well-organized
essay in which you explain the allusion that predominates in the work and
analyze how it enhances the work’s meaning (1981).
Fairy tales take the protagonist (and reader) into the wild, often teaching wisdom to bring home. Epics (such as the Odyssey) may tell the seemingly simple story of going home (though it's anything but a simple endeavor). How is That Hideous Strength a novel about two protagonists questing after home—physically, spiritually, and/or otherwise?
